1.     Introduction: -

Smt. Vaishali Mohakar is a progressive lady with zeal to do something substantial to benefit her family economically and her society. She studied up to 12th class before her marriage. Her family possess 4.8 ha. land which irrigated. Her husband is in agriculture and dairying but he has not more benefits in dairy production so he has closed the dairying.

2.     Training and motivational support: -

As a house maker in an agriculturist family, she used to actively help her husband in all her agricultural activities. She was inclined towards home-based economic activity and decided to pursue Mushroom cultivation. Through the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangvi (Rly.) Yavatmal-II. She availed a 3 days vocational training programme on Mushroom Cultivation at Panchayat Samiti Ner Tal. Ner. In this training conduct the demonstration of mushroom cultivation and exposure visit.     

3.     Impact in the area: -

·     With knowledge and information gathered, she started Mushroom Production at a small scale on 02 September 2018 with an initial investment of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only.)

·     Now she is production of Oyster Mushroom for 8th month and selling dry mushroom in 4th month. She engages 1-2 labourers in bag filling and Mushroom harvesting in her unit.

·     She has also learnt to prepare as many as five mushroom recipes for future planning.

·     She puts around 500 bags of mushroom per batch and harvest around 15 to 20 kg. per day and sells at the rate of Rupees 250-300/- per kg. Fresh mushroom. She sells all the produce from home and retail mode. She also goes for drying in case of excess production.

·     Now her earning from mushroom is about Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) per month. She is striving to increase to Rs. 60,000 per month in the near future. 

4.     Brief highlight of success & Impact of farming community: -

Everyone in the village appreciates Smt. Vaishali Mohakar zeal and endeavour. Women of nearly villages have learnt the production techniques from her and established small unit. Her message to another farmer’s is ‘’अपयशाचा विचार न करता शर्थीने लढावे’’. (Fighting without thinking of failure)
